Mosiah

Reggae artist Mosiah, born  Akeil Martin, hales from the twin-island nation of Trinidad and  Tobago and is currently based in Germany. Born in 1986, Mosiah, the son of a Rastafarian father, grew up with the music and culture of the Caribbean. It was during this upbringing that he discovered his passion for music, and devoted himself to the teachings of Rastafari. His passion and beliefs placed Mosiah in a position where he constantly had to defend his Rastafarian way of life against teachers and authorities, to the extent that his friends started calling him Mosiah, after the world-renowned liberator, activist, and spokesman, the Hon. Marcus Mosiah Garvey.

Mosiah is not your average reggae artist as he moved to the House of Nyabinghi, and later affiliated with the Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress, in Trinidad, also known as Bobo Hill. At Bobo Hill, he was called to be an ordained Melchizedek Priest, an honor not bestowed to many Rastafarians, but only to those of the most impeccable character and upright in heart. Consequently, Mosiah’s songs are deeply rooted in the truth of his beliefs, experience, and devotion to the teaching of Rastafari.

Mosiah’s musical productions are heartfelt and loved by a diverse audience with messages of liberation and the struggles experienced by the African Diaspora. Following the invitation to a studio session with Reggae artist Elijah Black, Mosiah immediately became known as a ‘fyah youth‘.   Being encouraged by other artists like Queen Omega in Trinidad, Mosiah continued his musical journey which led him to Germany. He soon became a member and lead vocalist of the reggae band Yard Vibez Crew with whom he performed all over Germany.  Mosiah released an exclusive Live debut EP production with producers Dancehall Rulerz, Selector Taylor, and the Sound Generators backing band, released in November 2017.

Mosiah has continued to release music every year while experimenting with his music and mastering his craft, with producers like Anotha One Production and the House of Riddim Band, Selector Taylor, Trinidad’s Arix Production, and  Reggae Yard Vybz Records production.

In 2023  Mosiah will launch his debut album in collaboration with his band Mystic Rockaz, producer  Selector Taylor.

The world will be hearing a lot more of Mosiah and experiencing the positive energy that he shares through his music.
