AbiYah Yisrael

Born and raised in the suburban area of Glasgow, situated in the southwest of the Commonwealth of Dominica (not the Dominican Republic), Nicole “AbiYah Yisrael” Alfred was brought up in a home where Christian solid principles were instilled, taught, and exemplified. From age 5, AbiYah was deeply involved in music, participating in various competitions and live shows. However, during her time at University, she discovered the authentic sound of conscious organic roots reggae, which sparked a profound love and understanding of the genre. Today, she resides in the eastern rural parts of Dominica known as Castle Bruce, where she co-owns and operates the independent label ChaYah Studios alongside her husband ObadYah.

AbiYah’s music draws heavy inspiration from artists like Nasio Fontaine, who hails from her homeland, and legends such as Marcia Griffiths, Dennis Brown, Lucky Dube, Aretha Franklin, and Yolanda Adams, among many others.

A proud African and daughter of the nation of Israel, AbiYah’s lyrics reflect her adherence to Torah and convey her unique perspective on life. Through her music, she endeavors to take on the great commission of enlightening others, raising awareness of their true selves and identity.

Described as “Truth Music,” AbiYah’s primary genre is reggae, but she also delves into calypso and cadence-lypso, showcasing her versatility as a multi-genre artist.

The highly anticipated E.P. “African Renaissance” is a beautifully lyrical collection that promises to captivate listeners. Mark your calendars for the release date on July 29th, when the E.P. will be available on all leading download and streaming platforms.
